we have chickens that are chicken, they hide under the coop, even though the run has a plastic roof.

since it seems to rain at some point every day on the hills around here my three just get on with it. if it's monsoon style they shelter under the coop but other than that they don,t seem to mind.

My older hens are out in all weathers and in the snow in the winter. I have some babies who hide the minute there is a drop of rain. Perhaps they will toughen up. At least they have a choice!!

thats just reminded me, i spent the first day of the snow season laughing as mine had never seen it before, it took them all day to set foot outside. lol

Mine love the rain. It doesn't seem to bother them at all. They also like to play in the mud that the rain creates.

Mine kind of do what they feel like at the time though they copy each other like sheep...one in all in!!  sometimes they go under the shrubs/trees at the first drop, coming out if it prolonged, sometimes they just stand there looking very sorry for themselves, soaked to the skin, and sometimes they skip around and flap their wings as though thoroughly enjoying it. I've always assumed it depends on how hot/cold they are, or how desperate for food :D but I do worry about them when they go to bed still soaked :(
Pets:if you don't love them like family, don't have them
