Carrot question
« on: August 07, 2009, 17:49 »
Our carrots and parsnips are in raised beds and we have made a cage about 2ft tall and put enviromesh on it so they are covered all over.  Now that the carrots and parsnips have grown really tall, the leaves are starting to bend over underneath the mesh - do we need to take the mesh off now or leave it on till we pick them?  We thought that if we kept it on all the way through we might not get carrot fly - is this right?  If we don't take it off will it damage the actual carrot or just the leaves?

Leave it!!

The leaves won't harm, but the carrot fly season is far from over.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?
