what are peoples thoughts on dung etc from a zoo, would that be suitable to turn into my plot?

I think that might depend on what animals it came from. I would be reluctant to use manure from meat eaters, but that might just be me being a bit odd. I wouldn't use dog or cat poo for example. I'm sure someone will come along with a scientific (and more useful) response!

i was thinking more of waste product from the veggie eaters ie elephants etc

I've heard lion poo as being recommended - seems it keeps cats out of the garden as well because the smell of a cat that size is scary. No idea if it works though.

Apparently lion poo is excellent at keeping deer away too, should they be a problem near you? We have neither deer, nor lion.....  ::)   :D

Are you thinking of Howletts Zoo?  I imagine the production of elephant manure far outweighs that of tiger!

I think we are all wary of dog and cat poo getting on our plots because of the danger of picking up worms and other parasites from it.  Lions and tigers are probably OK.

Whatever you use it must be well rotted first -  and remember aminopyralid.
