Winter veg
« on: August 11, 2009, 00:01 »
We are newbies to veg growing and to the forum.  We're pleased with how our veg have turned out up to now but seem to have all but reached the end of our harvest.  Is there anything else that we can be planting now?  Not sure if it makes a difference but we have just bought a second hand greenhouse so are able to use that.  Anyone got any advice?

Thanks muchly

Hi, i'm a newbie aswell, I have just put in beetroot, all year lettuce, pre-grown leeks - try your local seed shop and see if they have any pre-grown stuff which might take before winter sets in.  Good luck

Hardy cabbage, kale, garlic, onions, spring onions, mustard etc. etc...There's quite a choice really but you'll need cloches/fleece for protection for some crops. You'll have to wait until next year to harvest some and then you can bung in your spring stuff. Just read the seed packets and plant soon because Autumn is nearly here!!!!!!
