Hopefully I will be able to add a photo here of our new hens-  they are white-  I have no idea as to the breed, I asked and was told the Rhode Island Reds are called Red hens and the white ones are called ´White´ hens!
They have begun to lay eggs this week, we have had 2 small eggs.
Hopefully the photo will be here!
The broody hen is still broody-  I am still on a hunt for a cockerel for the hens.

White Leghorns, their combs are too big to be White Stars.

yep.  Our leghorn has a big floppy comb.  She's lovely, and a good layer of big pure white eggs.

I have a lot of breeds and White Leghorns are difinatley the best layers.

Thanks for naming the hens for me     They only took 2 nights till they knew to go up onto the roost.  They are much friendlier now, they don´t run quite so fast when we go to feed them and they now come for food when I scatter scraps for the hens.
