Chicks and moulting

Chicks and moulting

Is it normal for chicks to be in a constant moult until they get their full adult feathers?

My back garden looks like a pillow factory with all of the loos feathers flying about the place, and they're not just downy feather either, but wing and tail feathers too.

Also, my biggest boy, Tacheté, is slowly getting very pale gingery coloured patches as well as his black spots... any ideas as to what is going on?

They will go through a couple of moults before final plumage :)
