Hi longtime no see. Has anyone seen any sign of potato blight yet?

That's next year sorted then... I'm going to stick a big label on the outside tomatoes saying, "Potato - variety - 'Tall Red Cropper' " so I'll not be blighted so early on!  ;)

Got two blight warnings so far...one today.  Going to check the babies tomorrow, but I dont spray, so cant whinge if they do get it

One thing the old lads on the site smirked at is that the only one who has had blight in recent years bought seed pots as opposed to normal supermarket chitted spuds. His went down, everyone elses were OK

I hope Im proved right for buying proper stuff  :(

I don't spray mine either but it is becoming a waste of time / energy growing, planting out and staking up over 20 outside plants if this is to be the norm every year.

Had a lovely crop three years ago but..... I may well stick to a smaller more reliable indoor crop in future.

I wish you luck with yours!

No jars of tomato sauce, chutney and the like this year  :( for me

Sorry Learner, I meant spuds...I grow toms at home, so not too worried about blight on those as theres nothing to pass it on close to me. Hopefully the spores would die of exhaustion on the way in their search

Not a good day on the plot - but just as I expected - blight has hit all 24 of my outside tomatoes so I have had to dig up and clear the whole lot away. This year not even one ripe tomato from the plot  :(

Now I have to pass the news on to my father as he raised the plants at home from seed. He is bound to ask how they are doing sooner or later. He loves growing things but can no longer make it down to the allotment. If it had been left to me I would not have even attempted out-door tomatoes again this year after the last 3 years of failures.
