Once a Turnip has bolted ...

Once a Turnip has bolted and I cut out the flowering stem, will it continue to swell the turnip root or is it just taking up space?

Same question for Swede and Onion (and I suppose Beetroot).

...it is a waste of space.

You might salvage something from a bolted onion, but otherwise...

...compost!

if there is a turnip on the bottom I would pull it up and eat it, if not compost, or feed it to the Rabbits/chickens
