If all else fails put them in abox outside ur house with sign help yourselves. lots of the old folk do  that round here. i dont mind giving my stuff away i get the most joy from seeing it grow,the neighbours and family are well supplied with lettuce and beetroot every time them come round!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ha ha i have the same problem too but my chicken ladys love lettuce so they are eating it at the moment

Chickens love them so give them to anyone locally who has chickens and then it will get back into the soil.
