I planted some Gherkin seed and they all grew!!  I've now planted them in the polytunnel about (2 weeks ago) and now wondering what kind of feed I need to use, Also how do I tell the difference between a male and female flower? Do I remove the male flowers?

The one time I grew them I did not feed them or prune them or do anything.  We got far more gherkins than we could use!

We grew ours in hanging baskets last year and let them just get on with it , with tomato feed when I remembered. (Female flowers have a baby gerkin shaped ovary  behind them , males just have a straight stalk -- leave them all on)

Its the first time i've grown them, I've made large framed boxes for them to grow in so I dont tread on them while they grow,  thanks for the info.
