spraying tomatoes and potatoes
« on: June 12, 2009, 10:16 »
I was just preparing a copper mixture to apply to toms and potatoes and spotted an article on the Internet about using a mixture of sodium carbonate, vegetable oil and soap in water  as a fungicide for toms. Any opinions about this? Has anyone tried this?

Sorry, I didn't notice someone had previously replied to my question, so thinking I hadn't posted it I sent it again. Meanwhile, I was just in my allotment and saw a Flemish person in a neighbouring garden spraying his onions. I asked what he was using and he said soap and the alcohol used for camping stoves. Same quantities. Two teaspoons of each to four litres of water.
