honeysuckle flowers
« on: June 09, 2009, 19:35 »
I have two honeysuckles, both growing well, but for the last two years they produce lots of little flower buds, which shrivel up and drop off before they develop into proper flowers. They are both in a semi-shaded spot, and a rose planted close to one of them flowers just fine. Any ideas?

If the foliage is lush, I would put it down to a high nitrogen/low potash soil. This can be rectified by feeding regularly with a tomato feed. That should help them put on a good display next year. It will also improve the roses flowering, too. :D

Thanks I will try that. How often is regularly? and is that just during the growing season?

Feed about every ten to twelve days during the growing season.
