Yesterday i noticed that Bumble had not come off the nest and assumed that she had become broody,then roosting time came and she didn't go in, so i had to put her in, she didn't put up much fuss(she is the noiseiest and most alert hen) i feared the worst then,and this morning as soon as daylight came i let them out and she was dead in the coop, the other hens seem fine, what could have happened? They have an excellent life as they are pets, help!

So sorry to hear about your loss,  , how old was she?

Thank you, she was only about 7-8 months old she was an Araucana type and layed blue eggs, i can't understand how such a healthy looking hen can just die overnight like that, she had been laying o.k, and laid the day before.
