 Does anyone know that if you burn down horse manure does it become potash?

We have fresh manure delivered to our site every week and one ol boy sets it alight and he says he spreads it on everything.  He has wonderful crops

My question is: how do you get it to burn?! The stuff I get is incredibly moist!

Well we have a trailer load dumped every week, it doesnt seem too moist, was at the lottie tonight and its smouldering away

We have people around (some are 1/2 mile away) and when they burn the stuff, there is the aroma of horse urine, sometimes for days. It is really smoldering rather than burning, and the combustion products produced are a serious health hazard.

All the potash would still be there if it was properly composted, with the added benefit that all the humus would hold loads of water for the plants. As in shaun's signature "Feed the soil, not the plants".
