tomatoes toppling
« on: May 31, 2009, 23:39 »
its my first year growing properly and thanks to all the info hear its going perfect, but ive got some tom seedlings about 5 inches at the mo growing well but upon checking them when i got in from work and 2 hours after 1 had fallen over on closer inspection a milleped type thing scuttled out of the soil at speed, i thought nothing of it but i lost another 1 today the stem goes a few mm above the soil line.
There kept inside in paper pots at the moment, the bug was sandy coloured, do wireworms attack tom seedlings like this or is it something else

I don't know what caused it but if you put the top in some soil it will root again. Maybe use different soil though.
