goose eggs
« on: April 04, 2007, 18:21 »
My goose rosie has been brooding on some eggs for about a week and half, i managed to candle the eggs today and all of them look like they are not fertile, Gander jm is obviously not doing his job !!!.  what do i do now, do I take all the eggs away straight away, which seems a bit cruel or do i do it gradually. Poor old rosie all that hard work for nothing.  :(
Other option maybe to put some fertile eggs under her, but as she has already been brooding for about 10 days would she sit under new eggs until they hatch.

then it may be your gander is sterile ..... candle the lot and see what the result is . if he isnt able to do the job , borrow the serrvices of a vialble gander .take her to him lock them in a pen and let them do thier thing for a weeks or so then bring her home
