They are supposed to be quite hardy roller, try a row and see what happens.  Have you got any clear plastic or cloches or anything you could cover them up with in case of a frost?  I've got some growing in pots in the greenhouse at the moment, don't know whether to put them in the ground or in my polytunnel and grow some more for outside.

Sometimes, but remember we all live in different parts of the country, so we have to learn by experience, and of the experiences of others like our members on here, what is best for our area.
What part of the country are you in roller?

My broad beans - out of doors - have broken the surface and we have another 2 months of frost danger.   They should not be troubled by a frost.

My broad beans are behaving in mysterious ways. Most of the ones I planted in November are doing well but there's one patch where they're all manky - I think it might be the wind scorching them. All the beds were prepared with the same tender loving care...
I've sown some more in between me spuds now - I like broad beans.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Yea your beans should be ok now from frosts etc but if you can give them some wind shelter they would be happier, mine been in for while and are happily growing. The sutton is my favourite as I find the blackfly seem to fly over them as they are so small but produce enough beans to keep me happy for a good long period.
