Hi All,

Just wondering what kind of things I can hope to grow this year. Myself and a friend have recently take on an allotment and have nearly finished clearing it, I guess we have missed most things but is it really going to be just peas and carrots!!!
Thinking of calling my shed "the Dun Inn".

Welcome TGB and congrats on clearing your plot  :D

http://www.allotment-garden.org/vegetable/general/sowing-harvest-vegetable-chart.php

That chart will give you an idea of what you're too late for, and what may still be planted.  I don't think you're stuck with peas and carrots!

I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Whereabouts are you? Down the soppier southern areas you could try growing most things now. It's a bit late for spuds but you could put some tomato plants in, cabbage, sprouts, radish, lettuce etc. Ask around if anyone has any spare plants - there's loads of cucumber, tomato and squash plants being swapped round our site.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Congrats on clearing the plot, now get growing before the weeds appear.
You can still sow lots of salads; lettuce, pak choi, beetroot etc. and parsnips but for stuff that you've missed the sowing date you could try going down the garden centre and buying some strips of veg. (If you get brassicas make sure that you protect them or the caterpillars and pigeons will destroy them). Usual suspects; runner beans, courgettes, sweetcorn, see what they have. Also Squash are good for covering large areas.
