Wombat, if the apples go over very quickly, it may be "Beauty of Bath". We have one, I can't stand the apples, but I have a friend who loves them.

Hm, it doesn't look like Beauty of Bath.  I'll take some pictures when my crop comes through and post them here - there's bound to be someone who knows what they are.  They're lovely lunchbox apples, but there was quite a bit of insect damage to the fruit last year and they weren't really good enough to store.  This year I might give cider a shot.   :)

Hm, that looks a bit technical for me, I can't even manage to put Ikea furniture together half the time!   :ohmy:  I think you can hire cider presses so if I get a decent harvest I'll start looking into that.
