does a hen house/run need securing??

Hi does a hen house/run need securing to the ground? not sure if going on grass or slabs yet, just worried if we have strong winds it may tip :ohmy:

Do you have some kind of skyscraper coop?  Now that I would like to see :)

If there is a risk that it might tip in the wind, then there is a bigger risk that Senor Fox will tip it over - one did for a friend's rabbits that way. Depending on the size of timber you are using, you should be able to get some staples if you are on dirt. Not sure how I would fix if you are on slabs.

Hi poohpouri. :)

As bruced says, it depends how big and high it is and how exposed.

If on grass, a fox can dig under the side too so you might want to consider some protection around the edge too.

If you can give us some idea of what sort of coop/run you are having and the area it's going in, we can try and give better advice. :)
If you could post some photos up, even better.

How many hens are you planning to have ?
