My lavender I planted last year now has green chalky stuff on some branches/leaves.

I recently dug it up and potted it.

Is this a fungus?  I was planning on drying some cuttings I had - is it ok to do so despite this?

Thank you.

Can't say I've ever heard of this problem on lavender. If anything, they can dry out too quickly. Probably the safest thing to do is to snap off the chalky stems and dispose, then check on the moisture level of the soil/pot.

Sounds to me like algae. If that`s what it is it shouldn`t hurt the plant.

Do you mean trying some cuttings?

I can only think of algae/moss too without a pic, don't think much to worry about if they look good otherwise.
