I want to make some wooden arcs (dont know if this is the right name).
About 2m long. each one.  Dont know if they would be about 1 ft high

What size wood would I need and how much.  (Have the debris netting)
Want to use these as an alternative to cloches.

Never made anything like this before, so any help would be appreciated.
(Ive even bought a rechargeable lightweight screwdriver ready to make a start!)

As you can see I'm a feet and inches person.  Metric makes me glaze over with incomprehension

IE: what width is the ark untended to be?  Freestanding or fixed? what surface is it going on to?  etc etc.
? and you can give me feet and inches or metric, I work in either,  and if you are not too far away you could bring the wood and I will show you how to  make them...or make them for you.

Also I am a joiner with a workshop, which is handy for this sort of thing.
PS.
The timber needs to be tanalised and treated where cut, but do not get it from B&Q or anywhere like that!

I want them free standing, so I can move them around.  About 4ft long, that way I can butt two together.  2 would be good.  But I dont know what height I would want - would 18 inches be about right?

So would I need 2 x 2 (you'd think I know what Im talking about!!)

Just a point about the height of them, you'll need to decide what they are going to be used for - if to keep e.g. cabbage whites off broccoli, I think that broccoli is fairly tall and you'll need to factor that in.  Other plants are lower growing so it's less of an issue.

you need to make them slightly taller than your birds can stretch up as arcs can damage combs.

@ 1 foot high I don't think his intentions are for livestock, they are to be used as cloches I think.
