does anyone know of a variety of bush i can plant in the chicken run without it being devoured in seconds.

you could try planting in a bush then wrapping some chicken wire round it.
all of my important plants have chicken wire round and they don't go for them.

if you get something that gorws quite bushy or overhanging, then they can eat the bits that stick out from the wire without disturbing the main plant.

My run has 2 dwarf lilacs in it they were already planted there when I built the run, they don't touch them. Like Andreadon I have chicken wire round any new plants cause if they don't eat them they dig them up
