Put a couple of dishes of beert out next to the rhubarb and purple sprouting as they were both taking a bit of a hammering from the slimey ones. Next morning two dishes full of drowned slimey ones and no more chewed leaves. Luckily gort a few cans of well out of date beer from a couple of Christmas's ago (stuff I don't drink! - thats few and far between actually   ) as wasting good alcohol would be sacrilige!
Got the tip off here - Nice one!!!!!!!!!
The force is strong in this one!

Skywalker, a bit of yeast and sugar in water should do the trick. Replace every few days as the yeast will have 'wilted' by then.  8)

Sorry, should have qualified that as baking yeast, the kind your grocery stores stock.

You can try this if you have the courage.

Mount a needle or large pin securely in the end of a cane.

On a nice moist evening, go out armed with the cane and a torch and start poking around under your plants. Before long you will find dozens.

Stick them with the pin, then if you have nothing to feed them to drop them into an old container with a layer of salt in the bottom.

You catch many many more than with beer, but you've got to bring out the hunter in you.

Sounds good to me Ian.  I'll keep the beer for myself then (loved the beery pun though ... "if you have the courage")
