What weight of fleece have you got?

Looking on eBay the most commonly sold fleece is 17gsm.

My beds are 4' wide, so I think the 1.5M width will do me.

Looks to be about 15p/M for the 17gsm.  The 30gsm is 30p/M

Manufacturers web site says that the 30gsm is more rugged and offers better frost protection, but is it worth spending the extra money?

My first early potatoes are getting too tall to earth up any more ...

I don't need to plant anything else out that is tender, although if we get a frost in June I'll be needing to cover up quite a lot! so I figure I'm only needing to protect from light frosts (from now onwards)

I bought all different weights of fleece and there is a massive difference at how long they last. I currently have 30gsm and it is great. The 17gsm stuff I had ripped fairly easily not sure about frost protection as I always wait till after the frost to plant stuff out..

EDIT - just been searching on ebay for the stuff I got but it was 12 months ago and didn't come in a roll just 20 odd meters stuffed in a very large jiffy bag and was dirt cheap
