So, everything I have planted so far has made an appearance.  Most 'things' are close to ready to be moved into my new Square Foot Garden. (Pics and thread to follow).

My Carrots seem to be doing nothing though.  Should I start again?  Also, I know leeks get given a fresh new hole when they are moved from the seed tray to their final place, but do I need to do anything similar for the carrots?

Hi,
Carrots shouldn't be moved, they don't take kindly to root disturbance. How long ago did they get sown? Mine came up about 10 days after but as I understand it, some varietys can take longer.

hi,

    If the weather is still on the chilly side at night and not to warm during day they will take a lot longer, have u tried covering with clear polythene. it will warm up the soil and keep it warm.encouraging the seed to germinate. good luck.

Planted a month ago, they have never grown past 1cm.

Now that I have finished my SFG I will sow some new seeds direct into the ground.  Then I do not have ot disturb them!
