Am I reading this correctly that one bag sealed of 75ltrs multi purpos compost costs £57.00, that is the smae 75ltres that costs approx £3.99 in thegarden centres.  I must be reading it wrong.

I read it that way too Sheila! I looked on that website for topsoil last week,they quoted £185!!!

This I assume is for the retailer to buy.

If you increase the quantity by one each time to total goes up by either 4 or 5 pounds. It appears that there is a standard delivery charge of £52 no matter what the quantity.

200 costs £1416 - £7.08 each - still dearer than the garden centre, but cheaper than £57!

Didn't think it was for the retailer but you could be right would explain the cost.  As if they get hundreds in they may eventually make a profit.
