Hi all, we are well under way with our planting,  have some in and loads still to plant  :), but we are wondering what we could plant over the winter, o/h trying to finish me off for good lol, no he wants to make use of the beds so they are not left empty

there's lots you can put in that last over winter and most they don't need to be started off quite yet.  There's

kale
winter cabbages
brussels
winter cropping lettuce
parsnips
swedes
leeks
celery
broad beans

but of course if he just wants the land to be productive all of the time then this is a harder matter; perhaps just sowing an overwintering green manure so that the ground is ready for new stuff in the spring would be better than leaving the surface bare?
