i have wood burning fires in my rooms at home so can take some ash down to the allotment occasionally. am i ok to put it in the compost heap or should i be putting it round plants or digging it into the soil or something?
i am right in thinking it is good for plants aren't i?  :blink:

have just done a search and found the answer myself. thanks anyway (and next time must remember to search BEFORE starting a thread  )
