Medlar Trees
« on: April 10, 2009, 10:12 »
Does anybody have experience of Medlar trees?  I am trying to find out which variety makes the best looking tree.  I have quite a bit of room, am I better to buy one that isn't grafted onto a rootstock?  Are the small fruited varieties too fiddle to get enough pulp to cook with?  Do some varieties split more than others?  And I would like the best flavoured too!
Any experiences and comments would be very helpful.
Thanks.
