I'd much rather fuss over plants than do the housework!  This probably explains a lot about my house.

I'm so glad you started this thread, I thought it was just me and I am basically lazy.  My OH comes home and says priorities priorities as hoovering not done etc.  He is half joking and I do remind him hs the one that eats most of the produce anyway.  It takes so long to pot on and put compost in pots, earthing up.  It always surprises me just how much time it all takes.  Half that time is spent walking around my garden (which is my plot) just staring and admiring the veg or standing in conservatory looking at the seeds that have come up.

I havent even made my bed yet
Ive been busy in the garden! And bless my OH, he understands and gets the hoover out even when hes been at work all day, its a no-no to cooking for him though (so I went to the chippy  ;) ) Hes even cleaned the garage out for me this aft for more room for my growing mountain of pots

Not mad at all. I'm hoping for rain this weekend as it's the only way anyone in our house will get clean clothes/ decent food/ not have to tread on floors that aren't slightly 'crunchy' (don't pretend you don't know what I mean  ;)

Im good at getting the washing done, and keeping the place tidy and clean..I do a thorough topto bottom house clean up once a week on a friday and ironing once every two weeks on a monday. So he understands that now my most favourite time of year is here then I will be preoccupied and he takes it into account.  Im good the rest of the year!

Phew, not just me either then?  Mind you, I always panic if anyone turns up and the place looks like a tip.  Especially Brian's oh so tries to be snooty youngest DIL!

I said to my Nici once about being ashamed of the state of the house, and she said but it always looks so nice when we come up Mum.  But she hasn't seen how hard I work getting it to look nice before they get here!!!!! lol

I had a cleanaholic friend once, but she didn't last long.  Came to visit me when I was ill and had to spend a month upstairs as I couldn't walk, and ended up washing the kitchen floor before she came upstairs as she couldnt' bear to walk on it!!!! :D :D

I have someone who comes in once and week and cleans for me

Today I was going to wash the cars and do some ironing BUT, someone is giving away some bricks on Freecycle and she has chosen me to have them so, I am going to get those this morning instead. Mind you it was a close shave, if she hadn't have chosen me, I would have no excuse and would have to do some domestic type stuff  Phew!

Absolutely not mad at all, quite sensible in fact (in my opinion) - the thing with housework :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: is you do it once and then 6 months later it needs doing again!  Take the long-term view of these things.   :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I do a big housework day Sunday and when his "satisfied" its done properly (his not that bad and his pretty good with a hoover), he has the kids and Im off again, only to come back home to a trashed house, why I bother a!!
