HI all, I was having a real stressful afternoon yesterday, my son had stood on a rusty nail, and i could not get my girls away as i had to dash to the doctors and couldnt leave the girls out alone. Anyway as i was getting them all away (none of them wanted to go away) I trapped marthas foot in the gate and slighty grazed her leg!  She did give a little scream out but she did seem fine. It has just taken the top layer of skin off, will she be ok? Should i put anything on it? I feel awful

Yes it did take some scales off and she can walk fine on it!

Its good that she can walk on it.  I would put some antiseptic (like purple spray) on it and keep an eye on that leg.

Bathe with saline water and pop a bit of germolene to keep clean. she will be fine.

Thanks for asking, not good i thought i had cleaned it really well but it has got infected and he is now on antibiotics. And then the icing on the cake he had a albino leopard geekoo(lizard) for Christmas and it died yesterday we are so so upset.

I`ve used germoline on a hen pheasant that was badly skinned by an over amorous cock goldie. It worked very well.

I always say to myself "next week will be a better week" when things go horribly wrong. Sometimes it has had to be "well, next month will be a better month" and very occasionally when we get to new year I say "this year WILL be better than last".

Sounds like you have been having a bit of a rough time - hopefully all will improve soon.

Puncture wounds are really difficult to clean properly but hopefully antibiotics will kick in quickly.  Hope he's feeling better soon.

My son (a few year's back) had to have antibiotics for a foot infection - he'd been bitten his toenail too short
