Interestingly, I'm having slow progress with my freebies from suttons (John? lol!)
My last year's plants I brought in for the winter, boy were they in a sorry state, but not being one to be defeated, I nursed them back & have my very first sweet  pepper growing  .  Shall I try & post a photie?
My chinese 5 colours are all in flower from last yr & fruiting tiny round peppers  .
Hopefully the ones from suttons will catch up eventually

Your right you don't need a heated propagator to germingate peppers. If you can keep them at 70f or above they will germinate around 8/12 days. Lower the temp., longer germination. Sometimes weeks. Remember don't over water them.
