According to the Master Of Peas

It's not so much a case of keeping them off, as avoiding them.

Adult pea moth activity is during June to August, peaking in July and get into the pea during the flowering period. I sow in order that this period is avoided and the harvest is in before June is out.

The photos I posted were taken on 19th June, 2008, and as you can see it's won't be long until harvest.

I made two sowings, 2 weeks apart, one late March, one Early April. The harvesting began only 5 days apart!

I get one or two grubs, but compared to the quantity grown, this is minute. I didn't spray at all.

Blatantly stolen from this thread :D

The soil is getting warmer now and the forecast is for several warm days and more importantly nights. Peas do not mind cold but if they get a good soaking as well they will rot. If you sow them now cover them with a cloche if you can. It warms the soil but also keeps rain off. Put a couple of mousetraps under the cloche as the little devils will dig down for them and all you will find is a line of neat holes. Some that I sowed a week ago are just chitting.

Ive read that you can sow them and then lay holly leaves around. Never tried it myself though, so cant vouch that it works.  Its something Ill be trying this year
