Hens in Lancashire
« on: March 04, 2009, 21:15 »
After a couple of weeks of fence building and fox proofing i am nearly ready to get my girls. The only problem is that i can't find a local supplier.  I am looking for about 20 point of lay hens near Lancaster.
I can travel but would prefer to source them locally if i can.
Finally got the space, now just nead the girls!!

hello Runnerbean,

Have you had a look here in the poultry suppliers pages?

http://www.poultry.allotment-garden.org/poultry-suppliers/index.php

or another good place is the back of "Practical Poultry" a monthly magazine dedicated to poultry and for sale at WHSmiths  ;)

Thanks Foxy. I've got Practical Poultry for the past few months but nothing local in there.

I've tried the poultry suppliers pages but the only two people listed in there are in Blackpool, and one of those i have had very bad reports about.

Hi - I have these breeders lists in my bookmarks - have never used any of them but like to have a good window shop every now and then :D

I think the blackrock and the meadowsweet people may have agents listed in the area?
