Just checked on my (chitting) spuds in shed and noticed a couple with foam bubbles coming out of them, are they a self cleaning variety or something more sinister?

Went down the plot today ..Guess what... tatty foaming!!!
Thankfully only one....under it a stream of black glug, sticky mess.
Said tat soft, so cut it , to find it  as black inside.
All the others seem okay...no prob's, I can forsee...
Maybe a one off, hopefully anyhows....
Just thought I'd mention it as I'd read this a few days ago..
