Hi i ve just been given a large bag of carraway seeds and oregano both well out of date has anyone got any ideas how i might use them? otherwise its to the compost heap or improving the smell of the chicken house!!

If they still smell and taste OK, they're fine to eat.  Mostly it depends on how they're stored: if they're kept cool and dark they'll keep for years, whereas warm and sunny will spoil the flavour long before the BB date.
