Hi new to this so bear with!!! Our aprict call duck hatched 8 ducklings on weds, we have a apricot drake, but 4 are yellow and 4 are brownish striped, is this normal, i thought they would all be same colour, thanks

Congratulations on your new ducklings.  I don't know about ducklings but some chicks can be different colours for male and female.  The other thing could be that if the Apricot is a cross of 2 different coloured call ducks you may get a percentage of a different colour.

I did find this on farming friends from last year and it has some duckling photos at the bottom.  Hope it is of interest.

Hi thanks for that, will post some pics over the weekend, she could be crossed from something else,  I was under the impression they were bred from where they came from, we sort of ended up with them accidentally, now we have 10 ha ha!!

Hi when i had my ducklings they came from a white female and multi coloured drake and all came out different.
