Iam new to all this and would like some advice on mouldy greenhouses.I have been offered a 8ft by 6ft greenhouse on freecycle.Havent seen it yet(going later) but have been told by the people getting rid of it that it is vert mouldy. I dont know if its on the inside or out. So has anyone got any advice on if i should take it or not?If i do take it what is the best thing to clean it with and will it be alright to grow things in this year if i can get my husdand to put it up for me. Sorry if i posted this in the wrong place didnt know where to post

Thanks g1ggles

unless its a wooden version sounds like it could just do with a good scrub with scrubbing brush and some soapy water - don't tell that to the people you're getting it from though!  John has put a guide somewhere on this site (probably in the information section) on dismantling and re-erecting second hand greenhouses successfully which is worth a read - then you'll know what's involved.
Gardening organically on chalky, stony soil.

Thanks for the help. I have just heard from the man who has the greenhouse and he said the greenhouse has been standing in the same place for at least 10 years I dont think you realise the kind of work you are taking on? I do know it will be hard but there will be 3 of us to dismantle it so fingers crossed i will have a green house on sunday dont know when it will be put up but at least its there. any tips on things to look for when we look at it later :?:

When to look at the greenhouse last night its really good.Only one bit of glass broken untill we dismantle it (fingers crossed not to much will break)
It isnt as dirty as i thought it would be a good scrub and it will be fine.  :D  :) I also got a 6ft by 4ft shed from freecycle and am getting that at the weekend :D Cant wait to get them on the allotment. I love this website and freecylcle.

Thanks for the advice milkman and muntjac

Karen
