Yin Yang Beans
Another plot holder gave us some Yin Yang seed (sometimes called Orca) about 4 years ago, and we have been growing them ever since, saving our own seed.

We grow these climbers for the highly decorative seed which we mainly put into our winter "plot soup" (lots of veg from the plot). Also use it when making chilli con carne. The bean swells when cooked to about double its dry size.

If grown for the pod (about 2-3 inches long typically) I would think that the crop is disappointingly small in comparison to a standard climbing french bean such as Blue Lake or Cobra.

But the beans are very good.
