where can i get some compost worms? my bins dont seem to have any wrigglers in em

I should be able to trade you some later in the year Zak.   In the meantime, start off a new bin with horse muck and lime ONLY.  You might be surprised at how many move IN.   Fresh horse muck is fine if you know that the horse hasn't been wormed recently.

On the ground is fine - on top of polyprop sacks if moles are a problem.  Simply cover to keep the birds off.

If you do want to buy, the there are any number of internet places, Wiggly Wigglers, etc

my worms have always just turned up of their own accord so have never had to think of where to source them from - is it nice and squelchy and damp in the bin with a good mix of materials? - I find they like lurking in amongst sheets of damp newspaper from the guinea pig hutch.

You could try an angling shop zak, and seed it yourself

50 p for 25 werms . brandlings    2 pots and your away  just pull back a bit compost to about a foot n pour em in rake tye compost back over em  
 or cheat and take a barow full compost from a mate on the lotty
