Woodland plants

I've got a plot on an allotment, but I also wish to grow a small area which has my fruit trees (actually only two - apple and a cherry).  Its at the back of my plot set against a fence with other trees about it.  I would like to know what plants would be ok to grow in partial shade that would be found in a woodland setting. 8)

Are you meaning vegetables or flowers?
There's not a lot of veg that will grow well in shade. Raspberries like a bit of shade and so does rhubarb, but only a bit. Raspberries are too tall to grow under fruit trees, and anything growing at all will compete for nutrients.
That said, if you want flowers, and aren't too fussed about yields etc. bluebells, anemones, hellebores, geraniums (not the indoor ones), cyclamen and ivy are all good ground cover. The ivy is probably too invasive next to a veg plot though.
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".
