I just ordered flamenco because it said they fruit from July to November and 12 will give me 10kg of fruit. I don't have room for lots of different ones so thought that seemed the best idea.

How old are Loran and Flamenco? I'm interested in growing everbearer strawbs too, but still, the older the variety the better.
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

Dobies sell Royal Sovereign and they are supposed to be unbeatable tastewise, and are a very old variety  :D

Yes, they're actually even older than Cambridge Favourite.  Little Scarlet is older still, possibly the oldest surviving variety of all, but it isn't on the market AFICT. It is still grown in quantity a few miles up the road though, and I'm hoping I may be able to get some. I have a feeling it's something of a trade secret though. :(

yes it could be. They grow it just for the Tiptree Little Scarlet jam so maybe they have growers rights.  I reckon I'm going to get some of the Royal Sov from Dobies as I need to more strawbs
