the compost is one of my favourite things on the plot. I even quite like the smell now Shocked . If you get a good mix of different stuff it kind of smells like a mild sileage.

First you start off just sniffing a bit of compost but before you know it you're mainlining on horse manure.

I m getting one of those too how exciting!! i ve bought a peely bin for my kitchen to add to the excitement!  what a sad life I lead .x

mild sileage!!  :o not sure I want to be smelling that!  can think of nicer things to have a whiff of!

'Acquired' smells is one of the reasons I am so keen to get my compost bin behind the shed and in the shade  

I had a go at moving some of the paving slabs last night - looks like they'll come up fairly easily so hopefully by this weekend I can start composting!

my son says some of the compost around smells like 'real bad farts mum' which makes me laugh cos he says it so funny!!!  

I think newcastle brown ale smells worse!

but if smelly compost is good for helping stuff grow then i ll have some of that!

Thats funny, 'cause mine smells a bit like Newcastle Brown.

The worst smell is comfrey liquid - even the flies think it is sewerage.

I think a lot of these smells we get used to - except sewerage and rotting flesh, Probably genetics program us to avoid those things.
