Fustrated and celeriac question
« on: November 29, 2008, 13:37 »
Went to the plot this morning but the ground was too hard to dig or weed, so just did some tidying until the cold and fog became too much.

There is so much to do before March I just hope the weather warms up a bit now and again.

Can anyone advise whether I can leave my celeriac in the ground until I need it? I still have about 20 so too many to get up and use.
Lynne.

So much to do, but so little time.

I think you need to protect them from frost with straw or brack etc etc

I cropped a few last week but they had gone all woody    Not sure if they're all the same.  Hope not

last year I just left them in and they seemed to be ok, for some unknown reason I didn't do any this year and we are missing them. Great in mash and soups and stuff.

I've just left them for the last 3 years and they've been fine.

Famous last words!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Thanks for the advice. As I don't really have anywhere to store them, I think I'll risk leaving them in. If I put any more veg in the garage, the car won't go in!
