I would like to know how long do chilli plants live, do they die each year and you grow again or can they be kept for next year?

I ask this questionbecause i grow a pete's pepper "willi Chilli" from seed last june, the plant formed one flower over Christmas, which dropped off, but the plant kept going  (in my kitchen window) until this May when it went mad, grow to 3 foot high and has now produced masses of fruit for the past 6 weeks or so.

Do chilli's live for more than one year, as i now have a greenhouse full of various chilli's all producing fruit, do i need to save seeds for next year or keep the plant happy till next year

They are perennials in the right circumstances (like a lot of vegetables we usually grow as annuals in this country.)

Do a forum search for "chilli winter" and you will find several threads on the subject.
