DIGGERS softer side
« on: October 30, 2008, 12:02 »
Today is my annual start the day sad day.
Dahlias and fuchia bushes cut down cut up and put on the compost heap, the end of the summer flowers.
Today is also my annual finish the day happy day. :D
Home made compost laying on the flower beds and topping up my containers.
Bring containers of helebores [i only have a small garden,so its roundabouts with containers] into view along side cynclmen, pansys and primrose and get containers containing spring bulbs to side.
It is the start of another gardening year.
Despite only a small garden Flowers and plants are in view from the kitchin window all year.
Thats how i keep Mrs D in the kitchin.
Whilst spreading my compost i am singing THE CIRCLE OF LIFE.
Yes i do have a softer side.

Hi Digger , I like your idea for keeping Mrs.D in the kitchen and out of mischief , I've always understood that God designed women with smaller feet to enable them to get that bit closer to the sink but I've never had the point proven , I'm sure one of the terrific gals on here will help    :D

Nice you can admit to having a soft side Digger  Thats what us women like in our men.In touch with thier feminine side and a good sense of humour.
Hi by the way i havent been on here this week as new job an all!!
This weekend we are cutting the Dahlias down, planting carrots and masticking the gaps up in the greenhouse.
Also need to rig up something to stop my sons dog trampling on the onion sets when she visits. Our doggy doesnt go on the garden but went out to chat to my onions yesterday and a few are snapped with her big paws :(

Hi DIGGER, wrote to you yesterday, and as I pressed submit, the site went down - Anyway I was going to say "hard on the outside with a soft centre".  This weekend I have got to do exactly the same as you, and plant the same.  My garden is small, but I had over 60 pots and tubs this summer, although some are permanent, like bamboos and ferns, so I shall just do a couple of winter ones, I like to see some colour, my PC is on the breakfast bar looking down the garden, so I am in the kitchen most of the day.  Mrs Bouquet
