I'm confused???  Mabel the black rock laid her first egg on fri and then sat.  She hasn't laid since.  No problem...  I got up this morning to find 2 perfect little eggs, no nobbles on the ends, no imperfections just absolutley perfect!  (she is a lunchtime layer or has been and hers were a lot bigger, these are quite tiny I get the feeling these are from the sussex??????)I just presumed that when it was their first eggs they were slightly imperfect   Are mine just clever little hens or is this right    as pictures are a must on these pages I will do my best to show you our first lot.....  Here goes .........

Hi MD

Sometimes they do get it right first time
Sussex eggs are smaller than you'd expect and almost pinky coloured, if that's any help to you :?

Hen's usually lay every 25 hours so So going by that you should be finding them an hour later each day. I know this isn't always the case though :)

Thanks that makes sense!!  Mabel has laid hers in the same place both times.   These were in the box they sleep in!!  They are quite tiny, having said that they are good enough for us!!!!!!  Thankyou again
