Hello, i have recently got myself an allotment but am finding it hard going and very booring on my own  and i'm looking for a likeminded person of a similar age to share my allotment with as none of my friends are interested. I'm afraid i don't have loads of money so i can't afford all the best equipment, triffids have taken over so it will be hard work to start with and i'm a total novice but i really want to give it a go. Of course i will pay for the yearly fees and insurance so i don't expect someone to help financially, i just need help to kick my plot into shape and reap the rewards with me come harvest time.

About me; I'm a 26 year old man(but still a child a heart) , i like my dog, rock music, movies/tv and i like to have a giggle.

About my plot; It's near asda in Forest Town Mansfield, about 60x10 feet and it's been taken over by giant man eating weeds :twisted: .

If you or anyone you know is interested please reply to my thread, telling me a bit about yourself and maybe you could share my plot with me.

My aunt has a plot she's just started sharing with my mum in Woodhouse but she(my aunt) still knows' plenty of people who are still looking for a bit of land to grow on so I'll have a word with her.

Have you considered asking the site if they would half the plot and give the other half to the next person on the waiting list?  With the popularity of allotments growing I would think most sites would be more than happy to do this.

That's exactly how I got my plot - lady of mature years (well more mature than me anyway ) said she couldn't manage a full plot any more, I wasn't sure i wanted a full plot either, so I agreed to take on half her plot and got all the fruit - raspberries, strawbs blackcurrants and an asparagus bed in to the bargain. There are now 40 half plots on our site and about 150 full plots - i also spotted some more grassland being marked up for new plots, so at least the council are getting their finger out now   Would also possibly give gavin someone to talk to as well!
