Chicken grit question
« on: October 16, 2008, 18:52 »
If our hens are free to roam around on a grassy area, will they be able to find their own grit or should we look to provide them with some?  If we need to provide them with it where do people get it from?

Dave think I might have just answered this one in the calcium post

Most farm supplies shops have chicken stuff including grit, oystershell etc...
My girls free range but I still make sure they have bowls with grit & oyster shell at various places in the field & garden :)

I can't see now whilst I'm replying sorry but where about in the world are you? Someone might be able to point you in the right direction to your local shop :)
